Apparently you’ve been caught sneaking about Skyrim, pilfering gold and soul gems and such, and now you must choose your fate- go to jail, resist arrest or pay your fine. Sheesh, if only getting arrested in real life was as easy to resolve as it is in Skyrim!

These wacky flyers have been sighted in a city that features red double decker buses (anybody wanna wager a guess from this pic?), and it appears someone has already chosen to Go To Jail. Remember-the guards are always watching, as long as you’re in their line of sight, and you don’t have an invisibility potion in your bag.

Following the 1980s Film Alphabet, artist Stephen Wildish has created a new alphabet poster for the movies of the 1960s. I’ve only studied this a few minutes, so there are a couple I haven’t deciphered yet. It’s not that I don’t recall the movies, it’s more that I just can’t remember the titles. It seems like astronomers are finding more and more exoplanets every day -some which might possibly support life, although they are extremely far away. What if we could travel to those distant planets we know a little about? Everyone joined in the war effort during World War II, helping out however possible stateside. Disney artists decided to join the cause by creating various forms of propaganda, like this surreal animated short, meant to show how food will help the Allies win the war. Using morbidly obese Americans to “black out all of Berlin” never seemed like a valid wartime strategy until this short came out!

You can argue that the box office gross for the rom-com movie Larry Crowne by Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts was so low that it's criminal.

But it's the movie's promotional poster that's actually illegal, at least in Spain:

The poster, which shows Roberts and Hanks riding without protective headgear, was in violation of Spain's strict traffic rules, which ban "any publicity, in print, audio or video that may incite excessive speed, reckless driving, situations of danger or any other circumstance involving conduct contrary to the principles of the law".

ThinkSpain said the makers of the film had been fined more than £25,000 for the breach.

If you saw this poster outside the theater advertising an upcoming release, wouldn’t you expect the film to be some sort of avant garde silent film with a science fiction twist?

Created by French designer Greg Guillemin, they’re minimalist and moody, and their retro style could be the inspiration for a new alternative universe storyline. Silver Surfer fighting the Nazis in WWII, now that would be an interesting tale to tell!

Kelly Thorn's Rolling Road Show poster of Thelma & Louise is so good it's practically criminal! The stylized road typography contains iconic moments from the movie and really makes me want to go on a road trip (sans the crashing and burning and criminality of it all, of course).

Eric Tan created these pair of TRON posters, showcasing the classic TRON movie and the new TRON: Legacy that was just released. Eric said:

“When creating posters for each of the ‘Tron’ films, what immediately came to mind were the parallels between the
two worlds and how it had progressed over the years. Since similar elements such as disks, light cycles, and recognizers exist in both, I thought showing the contrast between new and old was a visually interesting angle to play up. Linking the two main characters was something I thought would add to the storytelling and the father/son dynamic between Kevin and Sam Flynn. To me, those films are amazing examples of visual ‘candy,’ and I hope I was able to capture that in my posters.”

The line-up for the annual Coachella festival was leaked a few days ago, and dozens of parody posters featuring everything from deceased artists to the most horrific music combinations have been designed. Having worked with designers for a few years now, I would have assumed you understood, despite our vague suggestions otherwise, we do not welcome constructive criticism. I don’t come downstairs and tell you how to send text messages, log onto Facebook and look out of the window. I am willing to overlook this faux pas due to you no doubt being preoccupied with thoughts of Missy attempting to make her way home across busy intersections or being trapped in a drain as it slowly fills with water. I spent three days down a well once but that was just for fun.

Yes, Minnesotastan has posted about the Otis Historical Archives of the National Museum of Health and Medicine’s photo collection on Flickr before on Neatorama, but I found these posters telling the public how to distinguish various poison gases through their distinct smells to be utterly fascinating!

I mean, whodathunk that mustard gas would smell like garlic? (Shouldn’t they just call it garlic gas?). Or that phosgene can result in "increased dopey feeling"? Link
