Air Guitar Never Looked So Sweet

Posted by Zeon Santos in Entertainment, Gaming, Music on August 17, 2011 at 6:29 pm

Even the most die-hard air band enthusiast knows just how silly they look when they’re jamming out on a drum set or guitar that simply isn’t there. And audiences don’t appreciate the hard work and talent that went in to mimicking musicianship when they can’t see the source of the sweet sounds. Enter Air Band for Kinect on Xbox 360, a game that brings your invisible instruments to life via snazzy neon graphics that will make you feel right at home when you’re playing an epic rendition of “More Than A Feeling”. Now your audience will no longer be disappointed, and you can show them why you’ve been practicing so hard all these years! Kinect Fun Labs-Air Band debuts on August 22nd.

Neon Posters for Classic Movies

Posted by Stacy in Art, Film on July 29, 2011 at 8:45 am

I adore these animated gif “neon” posters created by Mr Whaite (click on the link to see them animated). I thought The Shining was my favorite , and then I saw Help!, and then I saw Strangers on a Train, above, which won my heart for the Hitch cameo cleverly placed within.

Neon CRAP Sign in Idaho Neighborhood

Posted by Miss Cellania in Advertising on January 31, 2011 at 8:07 am

A new glowing neon sign appeared in Nampa, Idaho around Christmas. It wasn’t a holiday decoration. Large red letters spell out the word CRAP.

Ryan Gravette remembers the day the sign came to town.

“We actually had some friends over,” Gravette said. “They went out and said: ‘Do you realize that there’s a sign that says crap out there?’”

Gravette said: No. No, I didn’t. But, yes, there is a “CRAP” sign lighting up our sky.

That sign belongs to Andy Joseph.

“My crap sign on the roof,” Joseph said. “It stands for: ‘Can’t Resist Andy’s Place.’”

No, he’s not using the neon to attract the ladies. Andy’s Place is a second-hand appliance store. For Joseph, “CRAP” is a business decision.

The slogan came about when Joseph got a deal on an old sign from a defunct floor covering store. The sign spelled CARPET, which gave Joseph some letters he could use for a different business. Link (with video) -Thanks, Funny Laughs!

New Light Glows For 12 Years

Litroenergy is a new type of material that emits light for 12 years without needing electricity or sun exposure. The self-luminous micro-particles are called Litrospheres and are said to be non-toxic, inexpensive and equivalent to a 20 watt incandescent bulb.

The Litrospheres give off a continuous illumination, and can be designed to glow in any color. In addition, they are not affected by heat or cold, and are 5,000-pound crush resistant. They can be injection molded or added to paint. The fill rate of Litroenergy micro particles in plastic injection molding material or paint is about 20%.

The constant light gives off no U.V. rays, and can be designed to emit almost any color of light desired. What a cool product!!
