The 1939 film
The Wizard of Oz premiered 70 years ago today at The Strand Theatre in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. It didn’t premiere in Hollywood until three days later. In honor of the occasion, mental_floss brings you some Oz facts, such as how the color musical version came to be made after several movies had already used the story.
