There are so many music video tributes on the interwebs that it’s nearly impossible to watch them all, but really easy to see when one musician stands out above the rest.
Richie Castellano is a perfect example of standout quality musician, and his version of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen is so good that he deserves a 2 lighter salute!
I’m sure some of you are saying “Bohemian Rhapsody again?” but seriously, check it out if only to see Richie play every instrument and sing, he has some serious skills!

This official music video from his new album places William Shatner where he belongs: looming over us as a semi-devine figure dispensing questionable wisdom from on high. What does God need with a starship? This.

Every musical group eventually plays a very small venue -but inside a Volkswagen? The Finnish group Porkka Playboys manages the feat, playing Bohemian Rhapsody and pulling out an astonishing variety of instruments as they do so. -Thanks, Shesa!
Sheer genius. Andy Graulund and Matt Miles created a music video for Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” using only exploitable image macro memes. If you’re not sure what these images are, then (1) consult Know Your Meme and (2) you’re not spending enough time on the Internet. Remedy that problem forthwith. There will be a quiz tomorrow, and it is worth half of your semester grade.

The music in this video is much better than you’d expect. After all, how many slide whistle virtuosos do you know? The kazoo is featured as well, and some guitar work. It’s all performed by multiple versions of Joe Penna, also known as YouTube user MysteryGuitarMan. Link
How do you make Star Wars prequels better… or at least more tolerable? Shorten them to six minutes altogether and put it behind a parody of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. -via The Daily What

The Story of Bohemian Rhapsody
The 1975 song Bohemian Rhapsody is a long strange song that became such a lasting hit that you know there’s a fascinating backstory. The BBC produced an hour long show about it in 2004, in which Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen discuss the song’s genesis and other musical artists marvel at the juggernaut it became. TYWKIWDBI has all six segments of the show embedded in one post. Link
Another of the many ways Queen’s classic Bohemian Rhapsody is performed, this time by Hayseed Dixie, from their new album Killer Grass. Link -via Arbroath
Yesterday, Neatorama featured a Muppet version of Queen’s iconic song “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Lindsey Weber of Urlesque has compiled fifteen unusual and creative cover version of that song, including this ukulele version by Ukulele Bartt. Others include a typographical version, an orchestral version, and one in which the musician uses only his hands.
This new muppet clip – made with 70 different muppets – takes on one of the greatest rock hits of all time; Bohemian Rhapsody. The clip stays true to the pure, unadulterated awesomeness that the muppets are meant to be and brings them to life once again. From Gonzo and Animal, to Beaker and Rowlf, they combine to create what I see as both tribute to both themselves and to Queen. I could go on and on, but really, the best thing to do is let the video speak for itself.
Enjoy.
