A Table with No Legs


This tabletop seems to hover in midair, but it's actually attached to the arms of the four chairs, which swing out so that people can sit down. It's one of several similar designs by Ingo Maurer.

But cool isn't about practical. It trumps, transcends practical. It's in a whole nother realm. Consider the entire Neatorama store. (Which I love.)

Cool design, but impractical for households. How are you going to "borrow" a chair to stand on and change the light bulb in another room? How could you push the chairs in enough to block cats from jumping on the table? And armchairs at a table are impossible for obese people. Also, moving this whole thing at once to clean the floor would be a real chore.
