Found in a Bag of Mulch - Neatorama

Nadtacular cut open a bag of mulch and found this. Alive. He decided to raise it as a pet. The animal survived, and you can see the rest of the pictures in an album following the critter's first five weeks. ... and when you say 'ran across'? Cuz the man who came to cut and bail our hay actually did 'run across' a fawn. It's been twenty years, and I can still remember the scream. *shudder*

am sure it was a true wonder to behold .....
funny thing about the acre I live on we've had our share of wabbits and other misc critters
but I'll never forget the afternoon trying to psych my self up to mow the yard I ran across a doe and pair of fawns that decided to stop for lunch in the yard

Once I was moving a pile of pine needle mulch with a pitchfork and opened up a nest of baby bunnies. I shudder to think how close I came to spearing them! I covered up and worked around the nest, and four days later they all left the nest at once. It was a delightful sight, as the backyard looked like a bunny farm! I wasn't so delightful when they ate all my beans sprouts a few weeks later, but that's life.
