An old school-friend of mine runs "Patently Silly" (http://www.patentlysilly.com/) - which has been cataloguing ridiculous patents for some years now. If you like what you saw in the Life article, you should definitely check his site out!

I have had the idea that these could be built and taken to the Polar Bears since the ice is melting and it'd give them something to live on. I'm thinking they'd get all icy and frozen, just like the Polar Bears like.
