John Farrier’s post on Betty White being featured on the Oregonian entertainment magazine The Portland Mercury reminds me of this bit of trivia that I bet many people don’t know about her: she’s not only a wonderful actress, she’s a great singer, too!

K, I gotta say this – I really don’t understand why everyone is JUST NOW realizing how awesome Betty White is. She’s been a television goddess for decades, not to mention one of the most filthy mouths to grace the airwaves. As much as I love all the attention she’s getting now, I’m a little disappointed that it took this generation (mind you, I’m only 30 myself) this long to figure it out.
Does this mean Betty White is the new Chuck Norris?

I don’t know who she is and undoubtedly she will be one of the Great Actors of the Hollywood-Planet.
But am I the only one who -listening and looking at this vid- at the end found that all his teeth had fallen out from all the droopy-eyedness, sweetness and sugaryness…? Geez…!

I toured the US mid-west with Betty White and Gene Hollmann, in the mid ’60′s when they were doing South Pacific together. You never hear about her musical career, but she really was a good singer.
