Human-Shaped Root

Posted by John Farrier in Odd News on November 9, 2009 at 2:28 pm

Farmer Zheng Dexun of Langzhong, China dug up a fleeceflower root that looks like a human being right down to the arms, legs, and facial features. It is 62 centimeters tall and weights 5.8 kilograms. Zeng, worried about the consequences of digging it up, put it back in the ground, saying ” don’t know whether it is good or bad to dig out a Chinese knotweed that looks like a human. I’d better put it back in the earth!” Full-sized image at the link.

Miss C already wrote on Arbroath's blog that these can be created by growing the plant's roots within molds.

I agree Zav this looks a bit hinky. I've seen human shaped roots before but this one is way too semetrical.

If real: lets find that sucker and dig it up, we'll sell it to Ripleys and make a fortune!
If not real: They didn't have to give it a package... How pervy.

Or, I should say that the root may be real and the forming of the figure by human intervention is certain, all it takes is the caption to set things off.
