It’s like that kid in 12 Monkeys. He’s hiding in a barn somewhere.

The kid has been found. He’s OK at home. Apparently didn’t take off with the balloon.

It would have been much more interesting if we had found him pancaked in a field somewhere.

    Interesting tidbit!
Did you know most of the worlds helium comes from one small area in Texas/Oklahoma, and is stored in a massive natural underground cavern, originally built to supply airships.

    Google “National Helium Reserve”

I smell a rat. If that was my Mom and Dad I’d be hiding in an attic too. Being named “Falcon” is bad enough. Why do parents give such dumbass names to their kids? ooops off the subject. I vote publicity stunt.

The kid totally busted his parents on CNN. I’m sure it’s being posted everywhere on the blogosphere.
I can’t believe that people want fame so badly that they would do something like this. Just sickening.

As Homer once put it so eloquently,”Hey there, blimpy boy, flying through the sky so fancy free…”

Well what’s being reported over here (UK) is that this was totally a media stunt. Kids don’t know how to lie and the fact he said the he was told it was for a ‘show’ means it probably was.

It’s always the same old story: $$$$ is the name of the game. People magazine, movie, TV contract, here they come. You can bet money will be changing hands. Great lesson for our kids, huh?

  22. LisaL

BamaChris, the kid was never in the balloon to begin with. From what it’s sounding like, it was all a hoax.

It was obvious from the first image of the balloon on TV that there was no child inside. The wispy movement of it through there air made it even more obvious. And yet millions of reasonably intelligent people didn’t find that to be obvious. I am alternately taken back by the unexpected intelligence of everyday people I talk to or the sheer stupidity of intelligent people I know.

A hoax, of course, but all worth it when the poor lad gave it all away, then threw up on live TV.
