Here at Neatorama, we’re big fans of LEGO artist Nathan Sawaya. His latest project is a functional cello made out of LEGO bricks. At the link, there are more pictures and a time-elapsed video of the construction process.

    I WANT IT. NOW.

If it was electric, that would be even more awesome.

Also, if I were him, I would have made the body of the cello some strange color just for grins.

A FUNCTIONAL cello out of these blocks???

    Mán…!

I only got as far as making the smallest possible working technical working models of constructions I wanted to make in other materials and I thought I was Tha Man for showing that what I dreamt up just was possible…

…And here comes this dude and he just makes the real working thing straight from these blocks like there’s nothing to it…

    Mán… Deep Respect!

But does it sound good? Or even like a cello?

This major and minor chord of achievement is music to my ears. I wonder how this stacks up in song structure and musical form.

I can imagine that it only plays music in 8 bit?
