Human Flypaper

By Miss Cellania in Crime & Law, Home & Garden on Jul 27, 2009 at 1:01 pm

This anti-burglar mat works just like flypaper! Leave the super sticky mat inside your doorway when you leave or go to bed. If a burglar breaks in, he will be confounded and frustrated. He will probably free himself, but won’t be interested in whatever else he thinks you might have in store for him. What could possibly go wrong?

Of course on the other hand that might just make them angry and want to tear up the place a bit, in addition to robbing you.

The anti-burglar mat will be on sale in Japan this fall. Link -via J-walk Blog

    Hope you don't have pets. And I hope you never wake up groggy and forget to watch where you're stepping.

    You’re better off putting it in front of large windows. But then again, I am unfamiliar with Japanese house internal design.

    Maybe riot police could use it-- unroll a large long sheet of the stuff in front of an approaching mob ??

    @SWFLguy

    That will impede the efforts of the riot cops, and it won't do much against the thrown teddy bears stuffed with bricks.

    Isn't a thief smart enough to take his (or her) shoes off once they are sticky?

    Only in Japan would they think this is a good way to stop all those pantie thieves.

    It doesn't look that big... Ehhh now this product has been made known to the world INCLUDING to the burglars that read this...: Just hop ...óver that mat....?

    Okay- Perhaps Japanese rules of politeness are so strict that even burglars walk in without jumping or hopping over doormats...

    If its used in the USA I bet that some poor homeowner gets sued by some thug and his consignment-shop attorney following a break-in mishap. I can just hear it now "potentially fatal booby traps", "recurring nightmares of being stuck to fly paper", etc...

    And if this fails you can tie some rope around your banister and swing a can of paint at the robbers.
