Just in time for Fourth of July, here’s American Bacon by Chris Hanson of Pocket Bacon. Who says that pork products can’t be patriotic?

It's just that when any part of my bacon turns blue, I throw it out.

"Who says that pork products can’t be patriotic?"

Is there a danger of that? Do people actually say that? Or was that a legitimate question? :)

I'll say that bacon is unpatriotic. Pig farms contaminate our water. They stink and draw flies. The amount of water and grain that goes to feed pigs has far more value than the meat you actually get from the pigs. Watering livestock is reducing our water supply at alarming rates and the demand for grain to feed livestock is taking its toll on the land. Raising livestock is so expensive that it has to be subsidized all to hell, reducing the money available to subsidize healthy foods so we get cheap bacon and expensive produce. What else? Oh yeah, it contributes to the worst, most deadly diseases we've got. Take your meat and shove it.
