Skyscrapers of the Not so Distant Future

By Queuebot in Architecture on Jun 1, 2009 at 2:17 pm

I have always found skyscrapers to be so majestic, and beautiful. Here are some soon to be finished skyscrapers, as well as a few still in the design phase.

International Commerce Centre. West Kowloon, Hong Kong. Estimated Completion: 2010. Apparantly, this building was going to be even longer, but they were forced to scale it back, since city ordinances don’t allow buildings that are taller than the surrounding mountains.

You know what else was supposed to be available in the “not so distant future”? Flying cars and jet packs. Let me know when some of those ugly towers are advertising for occupancy, then I’ll oooh and aaah.

Ok, well most will be finished in the next year or two. Maybe you should read a post, before commenting on it.

Unlike others, I always read the the post then comment, hence the “ugly towers” comment. Plus most of those are “scheduled” to be completed – and we all know building schedules are never wrong correct? (see the new “freedom tower” boondoggle for proof)

These are merely monuments to the stupidity of man.

Man, America needs to step it up a little. All the other countries’ towers are prettier than ours.
