Electric Car Drag Racing

By Queuebot in Car & Vehicle, Video Clips on Jan 27, 2009 at 5:02 pm

Here's a great video from Oregon Public Broadcasting: The White Zombie, a 1972 Datsun that has been converted to run on nothing but electricity.

Not satisfied with an ordinary electric car, John "Plasma Boy" Wayland kept improving it until it had the speed and power to compete head-to-head with traditional drag racing vehicles.

I've known for a while that the right off the bat acceleration of electric cars beats any internal combustion engine out there.

I often wondered why there weren't more of these guys out there. The torque of electric motors is no secret. It's guys like this that are going to push the industry just like gaming pushed the computer industry.

you know that power plant that made the electricity probably put out a fair amount of pollution. Im just playing the devils advocate after reading about googles database computers' power consumption is off the charts...
