Whether you’re an illustrator, a parent, or merely nostalgic for these long out-of-print titles, the Golden Gems blog is sure to please.

This one to the left is Never Pet Pat a Bear – a Book about Signs by Mabel Watts, illustrated by Art Seiden, 1971.

    Never PET a bear?

Looks like someone needs to work on their reading fundamentals! Repeat after me: A, B, C...

Good memories, I had so many Golden Books. I used to like lining them up in a way that the spines matched to form a picture

I used to get a Golden Book every time we went grocery shopping when I was a kid. That was such a treat back then.

Yes, PAT. As in "pat a bear on the head."
I also used toline them up because of the pattern on the spine.
I did not see "The Man and His Dump Truck" there.

Pet ... Pat. Same difference. Plus, picking on typos on Neatorama is like picking on the littlest runt in the playground. :) (I kid, I kid)

Even as a kid I found most Golden Books rather watered down and lame. But I loved The Poky Little Puppy.

It's kind of scary how many of those Christmas Golden Books I had.

I'm 24. I guess we like to recycle in my family?
