A Rat on A Cat on A Dog

Posted by Jill Harness in Animal, Pictures on January 10, 2009 at 3:28 pm

Here’s a great picture of a three-layer love fest. I almost wish there was a tiny flea on the rat just to make things even better. Best. Picture. Ever. I especially love that it wasn’t staged, the photographer just happened across this freak occurrence.

There are apparently several people who do this little show and take tips from passersby. One was in Bisbee, Arizona for a while.

As the economy gets worse, there may be more.

How 'bout a flea on a rat on a cat on a dog on a tiger on top of Roy Horn?

Let's imagine there is a tiny flea on the rat, just to expand the cuteness.

    Jodie, I think it's a rottwieler

a gnat on the rat on the cat on the dog would be more appropriate than a flea

@Jodie: It looks like a rottweiler/labrador mix. Doesn't quite have the head of a full rott.

By the looks of it, I'd guess that k9 is a rottweiler lab mix. :-) Cute

    How about...

A flea on a gnat on a rat on a cat on a dog on a sidewalk in a city on a continent of a planet in a solar system in a galaxy of a universe...

This makes me feel like a flea on a...

A dog with a cat atop it, with a rat atop the cat, with a flea atop the rat -- that carries the plague organism -- yeah, that's the ticket.

If you believe that wasn't staged, I happened to acquire a famous bridge that is having tough financial times and can be purchased for practically nothing (that's right almost NOTHING).

I've seen this sort of animal grouping for quite a while now. Must be someone out there raising their pets to do this specifically.

For the love of all that holy, it wasn't staged by the freakin' PHOTOGRAPHER. Literal grammar nazis, worse than Illinois nazis.

Wasn't this on Neato before? Lemme see ... yes! They're Booger, Kitty and Mousie who perform for their owner Greg Pike for tips.

This act is from Santa Fe, New Mexico. A favorite for locals and tourists alike, local business owners paid for his vendor license after the police kept kicking him off the plaza.

thanks to those that chimed in about the breed of the dog! mucho appreciation. i asked b/c i have an australian shepherd that is way bigger than she's 'supposed' to be. i think you're all right about the rottweiler part. every once in a while i'll look at my girl and think maybe she's got some rott in her - but her features are more delicate, but she's twice the size (110lbs) that a normal aussie shep would be. she's a rescued dog - so it's just a matter of curiosity. thanks again for the info!

Slapster, that's not an example of grammar nazism.

A grammar nazi would have pointed out that the last sentence is a run-on sentence, where two independent clauses were joined with no punctuation or conjunction.

Yes, the picture was not staged, but the action occurring in it was staged. At first glance, the article seems to imply that the entire activity was happenstance.

Those animals and their owner were in Bisbee, AZ in 2005-06 when I lived near there. He made money by asking people for money when they took pictures of his dog-cat-mouse pyramid. Nice guy, but he seemed unstable.
