For People Who Like to Make Lists

I’m a compulsive list-maker. If you look in my purse at any given time, you can usually find three different mini notebooks filled with random scribblings, lists and ideas. You don’t even know how delighted I was to come across Listography. It’s a place to keep online lists of anything your little heart desires. And you can look at random people’s lists too, which is sort of like crack for me. I see a fun list that someone has made and think that I need to make one too. It’s endless. There are very practical lists such as groceries, to-do and how to pay down debt. But it’s the very silly lists that I’m hooked on – Fictional Characters I’d Like to Date, Embarrassing Songs That I Really Love, Food I Have to Have for My Last Meal. There are even some very sweet ones – Things I Will Do With My Kids got to me a little bit.

Anyway. Have fun.

I make lists of stuff to do on my computer or itouch and promptly forget about them. and then find them three weeks after I was supposed to do the things on the list...

In third grade, we were supposed to make a list of something as part of an assignment. Most people had lists with 10 or 15 items, maybe the more ambitious ones had 25...mine was over 400 items long. And so a life-long love of lists was born.:)

Thanks so much for showing us this site! I'm so excited to start browsing!

It's a nice site, among lots and lots of similarly nice sites. My favorite has to be Zenbe Lists (http://lists.zenbe.com/). The accompanying iPhone app makes it the best list site/app that I've used to date.

I make lists all the time without thinking. They can be a jumble of music, movies, books, quotes, poems or just random brain storms. I have three little notebooks that I make lists upon. Good find!

I'm going to go ahead and suggest the latest This American Life for a great story about a guy who makes list.

@Andrew: I agree that would be a great story for This American Life. It reminded me of a parody of This American Life by the Kasper Hauser crew, who also produced that Sky Maul book. Here's their take-off and This American Life; even the music is perfect:

    I use Springpad (www.springpadit.com) for my list-making.

I love it because it automatically links todo lists with the calendar, etc.

    Very awesome.
