He’s got more self-control than any human I know! Yeah, this would be even better without the laugh track. -via Bits and Pieces

I believe that Dog is the world famous Skip Boot from Texas. Texas Country Reporter did a story on him some time ago and sadly Skip Boot has passed on from old age. Skip Boot made his rounds around Texas showing off like that, he's dang near a legend in Texas.

Yes, this is Skidboot. I posted another great video of him here: http://www.thetowells.com/2008/11/skidboot-the-amazing-dog/

Glad to hear that this video has some credibility.

I am always very suspicious of pet trick videos that have the command-giver out of frame.

Skidboot has since shuffled off this mortal coil, but he was a pretty remakable pup

It's a blue heeler. Australian cattle dog. They are absolutely beautiful animals and so smart. They can be a huge pain because a lot of the time, they are way smarter than their owners. They can be aggressive because they are extremely protective of their people. They are working dogs and will actually try to herd any living thing that's available. My Lacey died in February.. she came to live with me after I moved out of my parents house. I still get choked up when I see videos of them. I would love another one. Unfortunately, I don't have the time that such a smart, active, wonderful dog needs.

So many ways that could have been faked. Sound effects and laugh track take away from the credibility, but I can see a sheep dog doing that.
Bet it would have been harder if the owner had tossed out a dead squirrel.
