I never believed anyone else did this… but my story’s a little different.

I have no kids. What I *did* have where time sheets that needed to be faxed in to the tamp agency, and a VERY boring temp job.

I also had a useless degree in art (Ding! Fries are done!), and a lot of white space on those faxes… So I drew. And drew. And drew. Gnomes, octopuses, anthropomorphised staplers– you name it.

It wasn’t until I picked up my last paycheck from the agency that I ran into the woman who collected the time sheets. She was thrilled to finally meet me, and took a picture of me for her daughter. You see, she’d carefully been cutting out those pictures and putting them in her daughter’s lunch pail on mondays.

I wonder if that little girl will ever remember that.

Of course, she will, Brammi. She will remember it her whole life.

    What a wonderful story!

I had the same thing happen to me. Only it wasn’t time cards, it was my place mats at Denny’s. And I drew wieners.

I wonder if that waitress’s little daughter will remember me…

i take and ship out orders to clients, and i draw on the packaging that goes in to the boxes (blank cardboard) i thought it was just a cool way to keep up my artistic skills, i went in to on the stores to do a drop off one day, and the sales girl (who unpacks my stock) was so excited to find out that i had been the one who was drawing everything… and she pulled me in to the back room, where there are three big cupboards which the inside of the doors were all lined with my doodles! big and small, all immaculately taped… now i feel like i have an audience!

Brammi, that’s the best story I’ve ever heard. I’m sure she will, it’s probably going to be a long standing joke between her mom and her :)

I love that guys lunch bags though, I just blogged about them myself. He’s incredibly talented!
