Sofia Escapes!

Chicken wire and tar paper are not going to keep Sofia inside, because she has a plan! You get the idea she’s done this before -which is probably why the camera was trained on the pen. -Thanks, Mauricio Zapata!

Beagles are known for their tendency to escape from things. For quite a while my parents had a bit of an “arms race” going on with their two Beagles who kept finding ways to dig under the fence almost as quickly as they kept blocking off these escape routes.

This would be a brilliant premise for a Golden Girls parody.

Digging under a fence is one thing, but how the dog moves up the chicken wire totally baffles me.

The great escape dog! We had a dog like that; he was a little cairn terrier. We build a dog-kennel for him in the yard, and couldn’t figure out how he escaped all the time. One day we pretended we were leaving and then watched him from the bedroom window. He actually went to the corner of his kennel and climbed up the chainlink fence like a monkey does until he was over the top and then he jumped down. I think once they have made up their mind there is no stopping them.

Wow, a pet video I didn’t have to fast-forward through. Smart dog.

The conditions look kinda sad, though. Is that a puppy mill?

Wow. That is one smart pooch!
We have a mutt that climbs over fences as well, but nothing that complicated.
We recently moved in to a new house and had to get a privacy fence.. something with no foot-holds so she can’t get out any longer :P

ted-probably not. it looks a lot like foxhound pen that a lot of hunters use…but I’ve never seen a foxhound that could do that o_O

If crows can learn from their peers, I wonder if dogs can. Are the other three going to be chimneying their way up chicken wire next week?

    Daisy Hill Puppy Farm?

If this were a human action film Sophia would be saying “I’ll go get help and come back for you!” But I didn’t see any touching scene as the love interests are separated…

P.S. Love the !Troll pic in the edit box!

I would want to escape, too. How many dogs were in the pen? 5? Poor Sophia. Maybe she ran away to the circus!

There was so much tension before she jumped. I was like OMG WHAT IF SHE DOESN’T MAKE IT?! …even though I knew she made it safely down. I was scared for her!

    Hi,

I’m working on a show for the Animal Planet and we saw this clip we may possibly want to use for our show. Do you know who owns this? We want to get in touch with that person.

    Thanks,
    Joselyn

Hi! Does anyone know who is the original owner of this Sofia Escape video? I’m working on a show for Animal Planet and would love to talk to the owner to discuss using this clip for our show.

    Thanks
