Does anyone do or come across people who do this?
Either as a joke at work or at/by random strangers?
After the first year, apart from the web, I haven’t heard of it since.
That’s because the Greeting Card Companies haven’t had the right fonts. Now, it will surely catch on. Unless the Big Pharmaceutical companies and the Psychiatrist League quash the whole idea.
If they didn’t limit it by calling it Talk Like a Pirate”, and just called it “Pirate Day”, maybe it would work.
Mommies?

A sweet grey haired Mother,or a Ma or even The Mammy.
But never a Mommy.

Maybe it’s because pirates still exist today, and they display nary a bit of traditional pirate garb such as eyepatches, parrots or peglegs. What they do have are RPGs, hand grenades and assault rifles.
TLAP Day is also my son’s birthday! So needless to say, we have a reason to remember it!
He’s gonna be six this year. Hee hee, how time flies…
