Bigfoot: Found At Last or Just Another Hoax?

By Alex in Paranormal on Aug 13, 2008 at 11:57 pm

If this is true, then it’s got to be the find of the century: Searching for Bigfoot has released some teaser photographs of what they claim is the remains of Bigfoot in northern Georgia:

*The creature is seven feet seven inches tall.
*It weighs over five hundred pounds.
*The creature looks like it is part human and part ape-like.
*It is male.
*It has reddish hair and blackish-grey eyes.
*It has two arms and two legs, and five fingers on each hand and five toes on each foot.
*The feet are flat and similar to human feet.
*Its footprint is sixteen and three-quarters inches long and five and three-quarters inches wide at the heel.
*From the palm of the hand to the tip of the middle finger, its hands are eleven and three-quarters inches long and six and one-quarter inches wide.
*The creatures walk upright. (Several of them were sighted on the same
day that the body was found.)
*The teeth are more human-like than ape-like.

The creature was found by Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, who are keeping the exact location a secret to protect the creatures (yes, supposedly there were live ones other than just the one dead body). Tom Biscardi of Searching for Bigfoot is supposed to present DNA and photographic evidence of the find on Friday August 15, 2008.

Links: Searching For Bigfoot – via The Snitch and The Anomalist

(Note: scientists are skeptical, noting that Biscardi had similar claims before that turned out to be a hoax

Loren Coleman of Cryptomundo wrote "I feel, in all honesty, this, indeed, may be the real deal, and I say this from visual information that has been shared with me." Cryptomundo’s supposed to have the first photos of the creature, but the blog has been down most of the day).

I know it’s sensationalisation, but seriously, you’d think by now we’d learn to wait until such ‘finds’ were dealt with by an authority before the media went ape-shit over it all.

Wake me when the DNA evidence shows that this body is a new species of hominid. (which does not mean when DNA evidence says ‘inconclusive’ or ‘matches no known animal’…and thing BF’ers try to pass off for ‘BF match’)

Highly skeptical of this. I’ll apologize if it’s true. Hope it’s not a viral ad for a new movie or other product.

This has been pretty well debunked already, plus, known hoaxer, big foot… do the math.

Also, who the hell would make the discovery of a lifetime and then only agree to submit limited evidence. Perpetual Machinists, Crypto-zoologists, and those individuals that claim to have found the secret to 50 MPG Mustangs. All smell the same.

Tom Biscardi is a known liar and snake oil salesman. However, if someone did find something legit and they didn’t know better I can see how they might have gone to him for confirmation.

Since the other sites are down there are also pictures here: http://www.coasttocoastam.com/gen/page2689.html?theme=light

Looks like a costume to me.

  17. nate
    Aug 14th, 2008 at 8:22 am

I think it’s fake, but I also think there may be a strange viral marketing twist beneath it all.

Here’s how our summer has gone thus far…

    1) Alien in the window?
    2) Montauk Monster found dead?
    3) Video on cnn of “el chubacabre”

    and finally

    4) Dead bigfoot

I’m voting that the Loch Ness Monster will wash up on shore next, or maybe the Yeti? Oh wait…I did see the Yeti in that horrible Mummy 3.

I like bigfoot stories. This is an obvious fake, Tom Biscardi is a big fraud. I would think that if someone found a bigfoot body they would call the nearest zoo or university to investigate.

  23. Tina
    Aug 14th, 2008 at 11:16 am

I believe in bigfoot and all that shiz but hearing who this is coming from AND looking at the photo – looks like a big hoax to me.

Have you seen the ‘organs’ laying on it? Last I recalled, organs were bloody and not so perfect and pretty. Not to mention the hair looks absolutely puppet-like.

    Boo! Two thumbs down.

  24. sickb*stard
    Aug 14th, 2008 at 11:25 am

It’s a hoax. We all know the *real* Bigfoot is alive an well, spending his summers in the beautiful pacific northwest.

    Aug 14th, 2008 at 11:38 am

As much as I’d love someone to prove the existence of bigfoot I’m sure it is a hoax. However, kudos to Neaotorama for the story, it is pretty neat. I see a lot of bitching in the comments from people who clearly have no sense of fun. Get over it people. Carry on with your perfectly logical lives that leave no room for questions. The rest of us will continue to enjoy goofy crap, because it is entertaining.

The monster hunter must always be wary of the hoaxster. Too often serious scientists, committed to revealing truth are pointed astray by hoaxsters. Meanwhile, the rest of us lose confidence in the existence of the Bigfoot, et al of our worlds monsters.

I know alot of people are saying this is a hoax..and it could very well be one…but any smart person who was trying to get the limelight off of a hoax most likely wouldn’t do big foot; just because of the fact that its been hoaxed so many times that the majority of people will think its a hoax. I’m not saying its not a hoax just putting it out there its possible its not.

  39. Athon

    @ mkultra

‘Carry on with your perfectly logical lives that leave no room for questions.’

Most ‘logical’ people here would be excited by giant squid autopsies and revelations of amazing new particles found in physics. They would be excited by the prospects of new discoveries on Mars, the possibilities of life on Titan, and the idea of extremophiles surviving where nothing should survive. Science is fascinating.

The fact that people are reduced to being fascinated over bigfoot claims and accusing ‘logical’ people of lacking the appreciation of questioning, I fear for humanity.

If some guys really found a dead bigfoot and wanted to save it in a freezer in their back yard wouldn’t they at least take about ten thousand pictures of the thing plus video with everyone posing by the body. They would probably get all their friends to come over and hold up beers and put funny hats on the bigfoot or pose it inside someone’s truck or on a lawnchair holding a drink. Than would make about as much sense as the “scientific” way they are going about it at this point.

come on. They find bigfoot in Georgia and the first thing they do is freeze it, tell no one, open a website and start selling merchandise and then have a big press conference? They want publicity and money.

  51. SenorMysterioso

Hello, it is me…bigfoot. That was one hell of a party! That is me in the pictures but im afraid everyone is mistaking me to be dead in the photos, when in fact I was just wasted. I convinced the guys to let me use their computer to tell the world that I am in fact real…and im kind of an alcoholic so if you ever see me and I stink or Im a little groggy or rude..please excuse me. Have a great day

In this day in age with all the technology and cheap affordable digital cameras with stabilizers and being able to capture moving pictures without blurring – I mean, what I am getting at is, can we do a little bit better than that? Those photos are pure garbage. There’s 2 photos on one of the links there; one is of the 3 bums standing in front of the freezer (what’s the point of that? Is that proof?) and the other is a really bad photo of what could be an ape costume. Go out, buy a digital camera with more than 1 megapixel (cell phones don’t count folks!), and take detailed photos. That means pull the body out of the freezer, don’t take pictures of yourself, and take detailed photos, open its mouth, do whatever to prove it. Cuppa-piece-of-crap-a all over again.

  58. SELIGO
    Aug 19th, 2008 at 12:51 am

Can’t beat Dr. Phil’s insight into this one: “Look, at the end of the day, it’s not terribly important whether you believe in Bigfoot, or whether you don’t believe in Bigfoot. What is vitally important about Bigfoot is whether he is motivated with the confidence to believe in himself, because that gets right to the root of his self-image, and if he has poor self-esteem, then he ain’t gonna be happy in the wild, in captivity, dead or anywhere else.”

  59. The Frankster
    Aug 25th, 2008 at 3:31 pm

Hoaxing has become too easy, several people saw the mutlated raccoon body, and easily believed it was a Montauk Monster. How people came up with a turtle, or hawk, or dragon or dog is inpossible, and it was such a clear photo, anyone familiar with drowned critters knows how they look without hair. Another good picture http://a224.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/47/l_4196ef92959f7b536cc ad06d370ceb77.jpg
