Posted by Alex in Everything Else, Video Clips on July 25, 2008 at 4:30 pm

When Carnegie Mellon University professor Randy Pausch learned that he only had months to live, he turned his last lecture in September 2007 into a lesson on life. The lecture, titled Really Achieving Your Childhood Dream, became an Internet sensation. It was viewed over 3.4 million times on YouTube

Randy Pausch died of pancreatic cancer today. He was 47.

In his honor, let’s take another look at Randy Pausch’s last lecture, where he talked about life lessons he learned and gave advice to students on how to overcome obstacles and achieve their own goals:

What a neat guy. Only 47 years old - terribly sad.

It’s so nice that through his philosophy he really was able to give SO MUCH back to SO MANY.

By far the best post on neatorama to date. As a 22 yr old recent college grad I could not have asked for a better timed inspirational video. It’s unfortunate that most people realize their true dreams and desires right before they pass away.

Thank you for giving us a glimpse of the wisdom you have acquired through out you years. I’m sure you will be greatly missed by many. Rest in peace.
