Too bad the whole look is absolutely tarnished by the traffic cones besides it, which I presume are there indefinitely for some unnessessary law?
I believe the traffic cones arent a permanent fixture.
Interestingly in a design flaw, the staircase was supposed to represent the DNA helix, but is actually spiralling in the opposite direction to DNA.
Someone compared this to the journey to heaven.
Wonder if this was the effect the designer wanted?
It probably would have been if it were in a building with a huge window facade

The this helical staircase and a DNA helix are both right-handed, so they spiral in the same “direction”. Unless you meant that 3-prime is on the wrong end. Molecular bio humor. Ha. heh. ummmrr.

it is a double helix and it is no coinindence that the Garvan institute do gentetic research
Paul, you are king of the nitpickers. You are technically correct — the best kind of correct.
How can a staircase be cool in person?
A staircase is not a person.
(I have to try and win back that nitpicking crown)
