You’re looking at something that is quite strange: these are rocks found in Romania called "trovants." The locals call them "growing stones," and for a good reason: after the rain, small round protrusions appear as the rocks grow!

I wonder what would happen if you placed an object on the stones and watered them thus forcing the stones to “grow” on it? Did I just suggest a new form of rock art?!

Somehow I get the feeling that these are not technically rocks, but some kind of really hard fungus…

the same story heard in india. that rock grows and although there is an extensions to the above story. people pray infront of it , thingking it has powers…very sad
