"My Fat Cat" photo by Annie Imboden [The Everyman]

Every year since 2001, The Everyman holds an amateur photography contest with the belief that anyone who’s ever taken a picture in their life has taken at least one good picture.

I had a lot of fun browsing their categories and award photos, and was particularly attracted to this one by Annie Imboden, a nurse practitioner, (and presuming that the baby’s her son, a mother) and a (fat) cat owner.

You know, it isn't that hard to keep from having an obese cat -- you feed it a bit less every day. Unless your house is *loaded* with dumb vermin, the cat is only going to eat what you feed it -- it's not like it's going to pick your pocket, hop in the car, and drive to market or order pizzas on the sly. Granted, limiting food intake gets harder if you've got multiple cats and they aren't all fat ... some of these critters are major loads, though. T'ain't healthy for them and all.

Just about big enough to skin and make into a baby blanket.

Hmmm, that's odd. I was thinking the baby is just about big enough to skin and make into a cat bed cover...

Seems that people are missing the purpose of the post. Check the site for some very wonderful eye candy and talent that some people have for showing us the world. It is not about the stupid fat cat.
