When I think about the following things, it doesn't even seem like that much money:

    1. I live in a middle-income neighborhood in Miami, and our house is currently valued at almost a half-million $. It fits five people and two dogs.

    2. It may *come* to floating houses, the way the projections with global warming are looking.

"Be the first, to enjoy the pleasure of deep-ocean living, in your very own, waterworld condominium. No neighbors with lungs, no laws, and no shortage of fresh food."

This thing is an accident waiting to happen-

Tow that puppy out past the shipping lanes a few hundred miles, and let the current, carry you away!!

This is beautiful- Wouldn't it be great on land too? What a great view all the way around. The bottom could be a walkout basement.

Cor, I want one. Though I do wonder how much power you can get out of the photocells. Could it really be enough to run a high-tech home with 5 people? Water would suck the heat out of that place pretty quickly too.

Ohyeah, I also hope you can seal the sub-surface levels from those above it, so if it does spring a leak, you're not screwed.
