HeadOn spoofs

BoreOn - Apply directly to Al GoreWagOn - Apply directly to the TailWantOn - Apply directly where you want

Only my second day of authoring posts here at Neatorama – thanks Alex – and I’m already doing self-promotion. Here’s a spoof ad gallery I put up as a bit of fun at my ad agency site. Non-North Americans may not get the joke as it is a spoof on a product called HeadOn – a homeopathic headache remedy (”Apply directly to the Forehead”) which is heavily advertised here on prime time tv. The ads are repetitive, annoying, have minimal production values or visual appeal, but are incredibly successful.
Here is my spoof gallery

Here is the original HeadOn in all its glory at YouTube:

and here is a NBC Nightly News piece on the ads

Ha ha! This product was advertised here but with an ad (which as I recall didn't directly claim to cure headaches) that didn't repeat the name. It didn't stand out as much as this version...how annoying!

    Haha, sexism is hilarious.

    Keep it classy, Neatorama.

It's not funny unless you're familiar with the HeadOn ad that seems to be ubiquitous on TV a while ago.

Can someone over at Neatorama -thanks Alex!- please revoke this guy's license to post? This gallery isn't funny, intelligent, well done, interesting or in any way worthy of being on Neatorama. I'd be at a complete loss for understanding what this schlock was doing here were it not for the subtle explanation that the author had decided that on his second day on the job, it was time to start trying to make a buck off of it.

I wish we could rate the posts. For one thing, I try to follow several blogs and don't need to spend my day sorting through schlock. For another thing, I'd rate this post zero out of five. Thanks, Alex.

Dearie me. It's so easy to push the leftie's buttons. :)
For what it's worth we have a range of political opinions at our agency and the left-leaning people had no problem with the political ads. Maybe because they're center-, not far-left.

Seriously, I know the Head On ads, but parodies are supposed to be funny to more people than your friends in Jr High gym class. These suck way worse than what we were doing in high school, seriously. Absolute zero quality!

    Carruthers,

No one except one person complained about the political nature of the ads, everyone else just said they were stupid and unfunny.

    Because they are.
