First comes the dog, then the crop circle, and then the credit card … now, feast your eyes on the Firefox Car! The car was debuted at the Mozilla 24 "Firefox Rock Festival" in Tokyo on Sept 15, 2007.

Neatorama readers are pretty savvy: 27.4% of you use the Firefox browser, slightly ahead of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (27.3%). Only 4.1% and 1.3% use Safari and Opera, respectively.

Most people who have trouble viewing Neatorama at one point or another use IE, so I fully encourage you all to switch (I use Firefox myself). Get

It’s a shame that more folks don’t use Opera. It’s quicker and has less “bloat” than Firefox. I use FF on my school’s website, but Opera otherwise.

That’s a VERY large % of “Unknown.” Any idea why?

Could it be older or newer versions of an internet browser?

How did you figure out what browser people are using?

When I saw that Firefox car the first thing that popped into my head was the “Knight Rider” theme song. ;)

Ok, interesting stats. Where would you find out that kinda thing for the total internet? Like, what percentage firefox/opera actually get compared to IE?

The other 40% are using Lynx, apparently. Plain text FTW!

Actually, Firefox is safer _IF_ you install the addons Flashblock, NoScript and Adblock Plus.

Otherwise, Opera has the best safety history of about 60 vulnerabilities since 1995, whereas IE has about 400 in that same time period.

Firefox also has about 400 in the short time it has been around (4 years?) but because of the above addons, is much safer than IE. (Not to mention, actualy W3C standard…)
