That’s a life-size model of a robot from Hayao Miyazaki’s Castle in the Sky [wiki], located at the Ghibli Museum [wiki] in Japan (the museum features the anime works of Studio Ghibli, which also released the movie).

"Life-size" model of a robot? Sounds like an oxymoron.

Well ... it's not an actual robot, but a model sculpture of one. And it's life-size (according to the anime), so life-size model of a robot. Right?

Stretching it, but it's still accurate by the loosest of definitions, Alex. And hey, we're all about pushing the envelop here, right...? ;-)

I would sooooo love to have this in my front yard!
