Second Graders' "The Last Lunch"

Posted by Alex in Baby & Kids, Pictures on August 20, 2007 at 8:18 pm

When Neatorama reader Judy Goldberg saw our Star Wars Last Supper post, she just had to send us this: "The Last Lunch" as peformed by her son Oliver’s 2nd Grade Class from Saint Ann’s in Brooklyn. The kids were studying da Vinci, and were inspired to create their own version!

Thanks Judy!, the kids are very cute!

Update 8/21/07: Here’s a larger pic.

Quite well done! You're gonna get all the religion haters riled up now though.

    XuYu-
Something tells me that "St.Ann's" is not a public school. It's parochial, just apparently rather P.C and gender neutral ... The fallout from Vatican II continues to rain down upon us.

    Straight talk from Sid.

Just a point of clarification: Saint Ann's is a private school with no religious affiliation. Also the kids were studying the painting of the "Last Supper" as a work of art so they weren't making any sort of comment on religion...

Judy- Thanks for the correction and clarifying remarks. I am actually rather relieved.
PS - the kids look cute.

I think this is a great way to get kids into art theory.

Hey Judy - I meant to ask ... are they staying clear (or better yet, debunking) the "hidden meanings" of the painting claimed by Dan Brown?

Indoctrination needs to start early when the mind is soft and malleable. This is how religions spreads, by the forcing of fairy tales to children.

What the fuck is it with you people and your conspiracies? It's a bunch of kids doing a rendition of 'the Last Supper', not an overthrow of the patriarchal laws you grew up with.

Don't listen to cpctc! The sky is falling!!

    (Cute picture, by the way...)
