Ice Caves

The Virtual Cave has a neat gallery of photos of ice caves in Alaska and Nepal, taken by Jason Gully, a glaciologist who studies ‘em.

The photo of the entrance of the Khumbu Glacier in Nepal is absolutely exquisite! Link

Without having yet looked at other images, my first reaction to the entrance photo by Gully is a resounding "wwhhooaa!" I can imagine that it tunnels all the way down to some beast that rests in the center of the earth or of another dimension. It also makes me think what the unknown may have been for our great beginnings.

Now that is what I call evidence for the fabled "Giant Ice Worms". Sorta like the cousins of the Worms from Dune. ;)
