UFO over Haiti.

Speculation is that this video is viral marketing for the Cloverfield movie (also called 1-18-08), for the Halo film, or for the videogame Crysis (links go to Wikipedia). What do you think? Push play or go to YouTube. -via Viral Video Chart

Update: The secret is revealed!

This is just one more graphic computation fraud, in spite of very well done!
And what can surprise is what ... it's not only the flying saucers that are virtual, the palms trees also. They are identic!

Well-done fake - and kudos for spotting the duped palm trees, Kct. I make movies like this for a living, and this one is pretty slick.

What I always find funny about these viral movies is the "kinda shaky - but not too shaky" camera work. All you have to do is look at the tsunami footage or Barry Bond's home run fan footage to see truly crappy hand-held camera work. I doubt anyone would be composed enough to shoot that so well if it were really happening. A home run is one thing - a (potentially) alien spacecraft is quite another.

My friends are the people who filmed this and it was filmed on a env cell phone so it had to be short and i was standing right next to them when it happened

IT IS NOT FAKE!!!

interesting, but kind of stupid. That's the problem with virals, when too many companies use this style of campaign then it gets confusing as to where its even coming from. How is this supposed to be strategic advertisement?

Man, I would so love for this to be real footage! The fascination part of my brain wants to be a total believer. With modern computer means to creatively alter video or photo a given, to just be a skeptic with knowledge of software seems to discount the fact that if the undeniable where to occur than one small step on the moon would be readily apparent as slapstick style comedy.

Actually, I live in a place where there is alot of palm trees. I could show you rows and rows of palms that look exactly the same. In fact uniformity is the goal when trimming palm trees. Plus, it's really hard to fake autofocus struggling to hone in on moving objects. If you look at this video notice the blurring then clear then blurring. That's autofocus on any amateur "Best Buy" camera.
The original poster of this video also wrote that his version was 5:00's long and YT yanked it and closed his account.?
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
that is ovisouly real cause if you saw at the end they where all moving in to that one star probably the mothership and at the begginning there where moving lights also.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
ok ur all missing the obvious.
why does the video stop and not continue to see them fade away as any normal being would. and dont give me an excuse like: out of film dude or camera battery died

Is anyone aware that there is another video of the same ship taped the day before in the Dominican Republic? Its at http://www.airdisaster.com/forums/showthread.php?s=d543b5e43a86d9db1ca782f005415239&p=508688#post508688
It doesnt look the same at first but later on the same craft appears..wtf. Marketing ploy?
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
Look folks it's very simple. If this were real there would be dozens of different people submitting there videos and photos from all different angles and locations. Nobody in todays world does not have some type of recording or photo capturing device on them at all times. This is the only piece of evidence available for this occurrence. Obviously fake.

It's not fake.

My wife and I were in Haiti at El Rancho Resort having a cup of coffee together sitting on the patio when they flew over.

We are back in the states now but hundreds of us tourist saw this.

(P.S.) The reason the palm trees look the same is because they are labor is cheap in Haiti. The resorts hire many landscape personal to tend care of the resort. The trees are grommed to look the same. I'm sure it's the company policy to make the resort took uniformed, clean and well groomed.

We are back in the states and my wife is now going to a shrink because of this. Glad someone caught it on film because it validates everyones claims. (I'm sure you will see more on the internet shortly about this. Most people are computer newbies and don't know how to post a video.)

I'm for one who is convinced it's real. Watching it several times I was noticing how the autofocus on the camera kept trying to lock in on the objects, especially at the end as they began to ascend. Also at the beginning the two ships are acting independently of each other as one goes off to the side and the person holding the camera concentrates on the one moving directly overhead and then catches both of them again after it moves over the palm tree which blocked it momentarily. Then watch as that one moves below the other and they both slightly hover before ascending.
The people here who are screaming fake are all so full of themselves that they think they know the answers to everything. Too cool is how they see themselves and ready to shoot down anything they can't understand.

In any case, the tape should be submitted to MUFON where they can do an analysis on it and that would be the final word on the subject.

Here we go. Why is it that when things like this come out everyone suddenly loses there ability for critical thought. Mike Rosh (Post # 26) states that he and hundreds of other tourists all saw this occurrence. So where is all the corresponding video or pictures to support this. Hmmm, tourist resort, hundreds of tourists and all of them forgot their cell phones in the cabana. What are the chances!! Come on people, I know we all want to believe that this is real but atleast try to consider this with some amount of rationality. To answer southbounds question (Post # 28). OK, lets ignore the idea that there were tourists everywhere that no doubt own either a video/still photo camera or cell phone with either or both capablilities . If you've ever been to a third world country you would see that about 70% of the population owns cell phones. How many cell phones in todays market can you think of that don't atleast have the capability to take photographs? This video has been available for public consumption for weeks now and I haven't seen a single photograph or video to support this one. So where is the supporting evidence? Well, there is none because it's frickin fake!!!!

Well Josh....

I believe is it real, maybe because I hope it is real, but also because I think that no-one which has the ability to produce something so well done, waste his time to just pubblish it in internet to see what the people will say on it. And regarding camera, cellphones or PSP with cams or whatever else....
I own many devices with video or photo recording, but try to think you're there at that moment.... you're drinking your margherita, suddently you realize that those "things" are around you flying in a path... before you realize what's going on and before loosing any single second of this extraordinary event you're a witness and before you find you mobile phone (which has the keypad locked, menu, camera, etc etc.... ) they are already gone and you miss it because you was fighting with the software system of your mobile.
And you'll loose the record in your memory for the rest of your life because you want something to post on "youtube"........ you must be an alien too to react that fast.... personally i think i will remaining with my margherita glass and open mouth until i see them fading away.. and then after look around if someone else have seen the same, otherwise the margherita is already too much.

He/She take the video because was maybe already recording something else.... and then see something around.....

I believe this.... I might be wrong....

Marco,

You bring up an excellent point. Why would someone put so much time and effort in to creating such a beautiful piece of artwork. Well, off the top of my head I can think of a few. 1:They're being paid to do it for a future sci-fi film. 2: They're being paid to do it for a future video game. 3: They're being paid to do it to showcase some new cgi software. The list of possibilities go on and on. By the way, artist don't believe that creating art is a waste of time no matter how they choose to display it to the public and this is definitley a work art.

Now, as to your next suggestion of people being too dumbfounded to think to capture this event in some way. How do you explain the literaly thousands of pictures and videos other people have captured of supposed UFO's? Shouldn't those people have been equally as awe struck? Or how about events that are a little more based in reality. Tidal waves in Southern Asia, hurricane in New Orleans, mass murders in Iraq, the complete destruction of the Twin Towers. All of which recorded and photographed by everyday people. Why weren't these people too afraid or in awe to document these events?

This is a magnificent piece of cgi artwork. That's it, nothing more, nothing less.

I don't suppose Haiti grooms their palm trees to look identical, so are they dupes? maybe. no argument here. Would I have been more likely to believe if pigs with wings were flying over Haiti searching for a hog waller? Absolutely! Let me see that video and I'll stop eating ham.

It is indeed a film promotion. From Snopes:
"They're digital creations which, according to the LA Times, were put together by someone identified as "Barzolff" in connection with a feature film project."

I believe those who are trying to debunk this are part of the on-going conspiracy to cover up all traces leading to the discovery of ET's among us...the gov't cannot chance losing control of its constiuents when they panic and run amock with fear and dread...
I for one have seen a UFO (1973) up CLOSE (within a few feet of my bedroom window). I believe there are WAY more things going on than people have the GUTS to face and/or admit...that's why all you nay sayers are so adamantly defending your denial of "their" existence!!
