Shopping Bag + Subway Grate = Art?

Posted by Alex in Arts & Crafts on August 10, 2007 at 5:53 pm

German artist Richard The tied shopping bags on to subway grates in New York City – as the subway train passes, the air flowing through the grates will inflate the bags, creating an "ephemeral sculpture."

Now, is this art? Link [embedded YouTube]

I was watching some art show on PBS (I think it was called Egg) and it was about a guy that built a machine to function like a stomach, so it basically produced artificial poo that he called art. It was an installment in some art gallery for a while and everything.

it's art. it's just not good art, and shows very little creative thought.

Even "Piss Christ" was more interesting than this.

Kat - that's Wim Delvoye (the machine was called "Cloaca"). he also tattooed pigs. if i recall correctly, some of the tats were bad-ass harley looking designs.
