Fully Functional Warthog.

The wizards at WETA made this awesome Warthog for Neill Blomkamp’s upcoming series of Halo Shorts.

Um. The dudes at WETA made a Warthog. I don’t mean that they made a big plastic thing that looks like a Warthog. I mean they built a fully-functioning, four-wheel steering, powerful, off-road vehicle with a machine gun on the back. At the correct scale. If you live near Wellington, New Zealand, you might even see some crazy machine-shop dude from WETA fishtailing around your base, ahem, I mean neighborhood.

Do the controls work the same way? That is, you don’t directly steer the wheels, you just tell it which direction you want to go in? ;]

That thing looks damm cool. But instead of the machine gun. I’d put double tipman a-5 paintball guns on that thing and take it out for some paintballing.

That paintballing thing’s all swell and good until you realize that half the fun of driving it is running opponents over…

They need to send some of those things over to iraq. Insurgents wouldn’t know what hit ‘em.
