Let’s take a look at VideoSift’s Sci-Fi Fandom collective, a neat collection of everything related to science fiction (with lots of vintage clips!)

Tron Lightbike
This brings back a lot of memories: the lightbike scene of the 1982 sci fi classic Tron. The arcade game was awesome, too.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, by Shatner!
Did you know that in 1968, William "Captain Kirk" Shatner did a cover of The Beatles’ Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds?

This Shatneriffic version was considered one of the worst pop recordings ever – it was so bad that it became a cult classic and thus will actually live on forever: Link

Flash Gordon Football Fight Scene
It doesn’t get any cheesier than this: the football scene from the 1980 Flash Gordon film! Quick someone make a "Flash" t-shirt!

Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan Cast Interview
Here’s a rare interview of the cast of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan promoting the movie.

Complete with Leonard Nimoy in a white suit: Link

Battlestar Galactica Gag Reel – Frakkin’ Funny!
No, no – not the Battlestar Galactica you see on TV now – this one is an in-studio produced gag reel for the wrap of the original Battlestar Galactica in 1979.

Flash Gordon is one of the greatest movies of all time! (OK, maybe not, but it was burned into my conciousness when I saw it in 1980 at the tender age of 10, and I’ve had a soft spot for it ever since)

^^That’s Klytus, and he has a great death scene, at least by 1980 standards.

Whoops, my mistake, that’s not Klytus, just one of the guards. Haven’t watched this in a few years, LOL.

Does any one know the title of a 1950′s(?) sci fi B-movie about a guy on the lam who hides out near a derrick on an atomic proving ground & when an A-bomb goes off his flesh takes on the toughness of the steel? And he’s no hero, he’s bulletproof now so he goes on a crime spree. At the end they kill him with flamethrowers. This film also featured knife-proof melons, I swear! Or do you know how I could find the title? TY!
