The Pink Dolphin is an endangered river dolphin that lives in the Amazon Basin. They get their strange coloring from eating crustaceans such as shrimp, much in the same way flamingos maintain their pink color. Link -via Digg

the beta-carotene that turns them pink is found in the shrimp and algae.

You know what’s funny? There was an episode of Venture Bros. that features Brock riding a pink dolphin. It didn’t occur to me that it might actually exist and wasn’t just the result of Brock tripping his brains out.

Actually, this “river dolphins” are called “Botos”. They are relatives to the common ones dolphins.

We also have Pink Dolphins in Hong Kong. I think they are related to those in S.America.

There’s pink dolphins in the childrens animation “Go, Diego, Go” and my husband and I had a bet that their cartoon was acurrate or just made up. I won, there really are pink dolphins just like the cartoon showed!
