Lion taming may be boorish and 19th century in mindset, but it is also very dangerous. If you have a cat, you also know how hard they are to tame. It’s not easy to convince a 500 pound angry fur ball that it shouldn’t kill you.

Otherwise, yes, my cats have sharp nails and teeth, are domestic animals and yet manage to scrath and bite bad. However tame, lion = wild animal. One bite and you’re out.
I didn’t think lions needed bath either…
