Bug-eyes and bat-ears for drones

From Danger Room:
Military researchers are working hard to give their robots the powers and shapes of animals. The latest addition to the menagerie: teeny-tiny drones that can see like bugs, and hear like bats.

I was making a search for a post on the same subject and I found the pigeons with brain implants.
What I was searching for was teleguided machinegun on wheels that they used in midle orient recently. What’s more troubling with this story is that they still state that they’re not “evil” and that they’re doing all this for the good of mankind.
It’s sickening.
in WWII there were some (aborted? executed but botched?) plans to use bats (and birds?) with BOMBS attached (little bombs).
the bats pictured are (possibly) fruit bats — they do not have very developed hearing as they have keen eyesight and amazing noses (for smelling/seeing…FRUIT).
bats that use echolocation for visualization of their environment have really amazing ears and noses.
Oh lordie… its a bat that will get tangled in your hair and teabag you at the same time! o_O
