A commute gone wrong.

Ok, you’re driving to work. Not only does a storm sewer explode on the road to work, but you crash into the manhole cover. You get out of the vehicle to inspect the damage, and it just gets worse from there. Push play or go to Live Leak(no pun intended).

Yikes! At least it wasn't a sanitary sewer.

Oh wow. That has gotta be the most horrible way to get drenched during a storm...with stinky sewer juice!

At least a few cars stopped to see if the fellow was alright.

What a timely video! 1999? Are you kidding me? What is this, COPS?

That was amazing, and talk about bad timing; the guy is in front of the truck checking things out and it starts in again... Gah!

I saw something like that here a few years back; we had a day with torrential rainstorms (something like 5 inches in a couple of hours) and on my drive home there were two spots where water was gushing out of manholes with the covers dancing on top of the fountains. Much smaller scale of course, but it was impressive!

I wonder causes pressure to build up like that in a storm sewer. It's not as if there's methane buildup over time like you'd get with raw sewage.
All in all, a pretty bad start to the day.

i was more worried about the lightning at the end and if it struck the water then the guy would have died
