But seriously, when you post a comment on a popular video or something and you're the first to do so, chance are your comment will be the most read comment in that group of comments.
I can't tell you how it feel to be the first to reply to something that will become really popular in the future because it just never happens... but if it does happen try to put in some content.
In response to 30. No one has gone down in history saying "First", people have by replying with insightful comments. Therefor, being first on a post with an insightful comment, easily trumps "First".
Imagine if everyone who read blogs commented, but only wrote their post #. Ah, how much simpler the world would be.
Or better yet, show up to a party way early, yell FIRST when you get there, then every time someone shows up, yell FIRST! but then hide in a corner until someone else arrives. You'd be a hoot. ;)

The trouble with insightful comments is you have to sift through all that other rubbish to get to them.
We should have everybody use a special symbol. Then you can locate the insightful comments quickly, or with the search function.
That way the insightful people will win out over the Firsters, who always fill up the first page of any comments section.
