Fly By Wire

Fly by wire
“Feed the control freak inside with the fastest adventure flight in the world” This “plane” is connected to an overhead suspension point. All I needed to hear is that you’re in charge of the throttle and steering.

This is in New Zealand. I’m sure it wouldn’t pass safety and insurance guidelines in the U.S. Too bad.

I saw that thing on TV once. Gah, looks like fun!

Is anyone sure there isn't one of these in the States?

For some reason I thought there was one in Texas.

I think there was two in new Zealand, but one was closed down after it crashed. I am not sure if the last one is still in operation.

They say they are the only one operating in the world on the site.

I've tried that while in New Zealand, and it is a lot less exciting than it looks. In fact, it turned out to be pretty boring after a minute or two because unexperienced "pilots" (like me and most others) simply rock back and forth as the steering is difficult.

There was one in Burleson, Texas... south of Fort Worth. It was operational for a couple of years and closed about 6 years ago.
They charged $55 for a ride, and it took several rides to get the hang of operating it.
It was just too expensive to ride, so it finally went out of business.
You could spend all day at Six Flags Over Texas for less than 1 ride on this thing... and have more fun.
