The Clutter Home for Sale.

The real estate agent’s description of this house in Holcomb, Texas Kansas, is charming: hardwood floor, fireplace, built-in china hutch, sunny breakfast nook, etc. (Notice they omit one important fact?)

But, the real reason it’s in Neatorama is because it’s the Clutter home. You know, the Clutters as in Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood [wiki]. Creepy.

    It's Holcomb, Kansas (not Texas).

I'd have a a hard time spending too much time in that basement.

Thanks Bruce! I knew that (yet for some reason I did type in Texas!)

Wow, that is scary - $275,000 for a house in Kansas?!? Even with 7 acres? You can buy a condo in Chicago for that money and live in civilization.

I, like many, are too fascinated by such a blood and gore story like In C.Blood. I read in my browsings some months ago, that the house was for sale. so, I suppose it hasn't sold. I'm amazed that someone hasn't re-done it completely, or burned it down by now.
But some large family has lived there happily for a long time up until it went for sale last yr.
I guess Hollywood needs to buy it for even more movies to be made about it.
After all Lizzie Borden's home is still going strong as a bed and breakfast. Yes, really.
    and yes, horrors!
