By Alex in Art, Video Clips on Oct 3, 2006 at 8:36 pm

Here’s the video tape of the Thousand-Hand Bodhisattva performed by the 21 members of the China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe, previously posted on Neatorama.

Fantastic! Hit play or go to Link [YouTube] – Thanks for the tip, Adam!

did anyone else find the editing on this very distracting? i felt it really detracted from what was otherwise a very beautiful dance.

As the daughter of a long-time video editor, I can agree that the editing was awful. Otherwise, amazing artistry!

Somewhat unfortunately, the directors of Thousand-hand Bodhisattva was sued for infringement!

I wondering how these people are disabled. They seem fine to me.

I was fortunate to see them perform the summer of 2002 at Deaf Way II (an international gathering of over 10,000 d/Deaf people from around the world) in D.C. It was SPECTACULAR to say the least!

P.S. Meg…there’s no such “term” as “deaf mutes.”
