From a broader series begun in 1997, the photographs in this suite are the result of mean averaging every Playboy centerfold foldout for the four decades beginning Jan. 1960 through Dec. 1999. This tracks, en masse, the evolution of this form of portraiture.

Great study. But I wonder why someone would like to take playboy as the main study object.
There must be some secret clue behind this fact.

It seems like the average over time reflects Hugh’s shift in taste from brunettes to blondes. Also note the relatively constant blue background. this is pretty damn interesting I must say.
