Sounds like the Fresh-Breeze Flyke, with that one you could even use your motor on the road !

[...] A Para-Cycle is a bicycle combined with a parachute and a huge fan. This combination produces a street-legal ultralight aircraft. No driver's license required and no pilot's license required (that scares me a little). I might be a little more interested if it was less than $10,000. As the creator of the Para-Cycle concept, to my knowlege we preceeded the Fresh Breese Flyke by some 2 or 3 years. Our debut was in Oshkosh Wi. 1997. We won the "innovation award". We did experiment with two diffrent street power systems. One was a 49 cc motor and the other a "revolutionary-for-it's-time" electric drive unit.
Alass, we ran out of money before we could sell enough of them to make a viable business out of it. It seems like there are millions of people willing to spend $5,000.00 dollars for a personal aviaition device that litteraly costs almost $10,000.00 (to properly manufacture). So I say "go for it" if YOU can do that.

If you want to see something currently hapening that's REALLY cool, go here; http://www.jet-man.com/actuel.html
    Cheers!
