The personal brewery combines the stages of fermentation and carbonation, which greatly accelerates the brewing process and delivers a 50 pint batch faster than you can drink what you brewed last week. For now, it can only make light ales, and it's daunting $5000 price tag might keep it from flying off the shelves, but this shiny little wonder will definitely get better, and cheaper in the future and may make brewing at home the only way to fly.

A group of friends put together this cute CGI short about a defective robot, and it looks quite nice considering these amateurs had no experience as professional animators. Anybody who built tracks for their Hot Wheels as a kid will drool when they see this incredible setup! Metropolis II is an amazing, kinetic work of art by Chris Burden that measures 20x30 feet, and features over 1200 matchbox cars that travel at speeds up to 200 scale mph. John Farrier first wrote about this spectacular feat of micro-engineering back in November of 2010, and now it can be seen, live in all its massive glory, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art beginning this fall. Watch the short doc, made by the same folks who made Catfish, and you'll see just what the hype is all about.

A robot that can learn, think and act for itself might make some people lose sleep over the possibility of a Terminator-esque robotic revolution, but scientists in Japan feel that this advancement in the field of robotics is a good thing, and may revolutionize how our mechanized workforces handle the tasks they're designed to perform .
