The Totally Groovadelic Peter Max Fashion Collection From 1970

People have access to the hits and misses from every single decade of 20th century fashion, and yet with all that knowledge at their disposal they still choose to wear some pretty funky outfits.

Heck, hipsters have created a whole pseudo-subculture based around wearing goofy getups, and they definitely consider themselves part of the 21st century, so subjectively fashion from the 70s wasn’t that bad, right?

Reserve your judgment until you see these Groovalicious Peter Max Fashions From The 1970s, which include these hideous patterned ties that should be considered too distracting to wear to work.

But this skirt and blouse combo is actually pretty cool looking, so I guess we can consider this Peter Max collection featured in Seventeen magazine in April, 1970 both a hit and a miss!

Father-Daughter Team Build Musical Stairs, To The Pizza Guy's Delight

Delivering pizza can be an unrewarding and sometimes dangerous job, and you never know what you’re going to find when you show up to someone’s house with their pie.

Bad case scenario- the person opens the door and robs the delivery guy at gunpoint. Best case scenario- you show up at inventor Ivan Owen's house and your footsteps are greeted by sweet music!

Ivan and his darling daughter built "musical stairs", installing pressure plates connected into pipe organs, then they called the pizza delivery guy and watched the fun unfold one step at a time!

Don't Cry Over Spilled Coffee, Use It To Draw Monsters!

Sometimes all you need to create a great piece of art is a jumping off point, some sort of inspiration to get those creative wheels turning.

Many artists use reference photos for this exact reason, or come up with thumbnail sketches before they get down to work, but artist and copywriter Stefan just lets the coffee flow and sees where his artistic mind goes.

Stefan has discovered a love of drawing coffee-monsters, little impromptu illustrations that all start with spilled coffee, and now he can’t stop drawing and creating stories for the little stains.

Stefan's full blown art and caffeine addiction has led to over 480 coffee-monsters being born so far, and Stefan will continue to bring those java stains to life, and tell their story, as long as it makes him happy.

Watch The Navy's Catapult Launch 4-Ton Sled Off An Aircraft Carrier

In the Navy you get to do all kinds of fun things, like watch fighter jets come in for a landing on the deck of an aircraft carrier or launch heavy stuff off that same deck.

U.S. Ford-class aircraft carriers are now going to be equipped with a railgun-catapult hybrid, which is an "electrically powered electromagnetic projectile launcher", which they'll use to launch aircraft from the deck of a carrier.

But in this case the Navy crew aboard the U.S.S. Gerald R. Ford were just showing off their sweet new EMALS (Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System), demonstrating how easy it is for the EMALS to launch a 4 ton sled.

Couple Married For 75 Years Die In Each Other's Arms

It's hard enough to be around another person for a whole year straight, let alone spend 75 years married to the same person, but for one San Diego couple that was their sweet reality.

Jeanette and Alexander Toczko claimed to have been in love since they were eight years old, got married back in 1940 and somehow not only managed to stay married but were actually happy together right up until the end.

The beginning of the end came when Alexander Toczko fell and broke his hip, and started fading fast. Their children insisted he be brought out of hospice so he could be with Jeanette during his final moments, and Alexander died in Jeanette's arms just like he wanted.

24 hours later an otherwise healthy Jeanette passed away, unwilling or unable to live without Alexander in her life, and the couple now get to spend the afterlife in post-wedded bliss...

Judge Rules Hulk Hogan Allowed One Plain Bandana During Trial

You can file this story under G for “Gee, thanks for sharing”- Hulk Hogan is going to trial with his lawsuit against Gawker Media for posting exerpts of his sex tape, and a judge has ruled he’s allowed “One plain headband”.

Phew! That would have been one messed up courtroom appearance for the Hulkster if he couldn’t don his signature scarf headed swagger!

Hulk is hoping to teach the gossipers at Gawker a lesson about invading his privacy, and the judge had one thing to say about the whole affair- "This is not going to be a carnival". Of course not, it's going to be Hulkamania!

Fridge Night - Spoiled Food Is Scary

Fridge Night by Biticol

It was a night that refrigerators would talk about for decades to come, a night far scarier than any vampire fright flick, and for the fridge it would be his last night as a working appliance. The horror began when a sleepwalking snacker named Bob made his way into the kitchen, mumbling something about frozen peas and pineapple juice. Bob violently threw open the fridge door, exposing the fridge's insides to the heat of the night, and then Bob walked away without closing the door...

People tell tales about a haunted car called Christine and a bunch of big trucks who shifted themselves into maximum overdrive, but those are just regular old horror shows compared to an old tale about an even older car. The movie is called "Ello Gov'nor" and to hear Mordecai and Rigby tell it this seemingly stuffy terror flick is one hell of a scary ride.

15 Albums That Cost Way Too Much Money To Make

Cost may not seem like a key factor in the recording of an album, as many artists are willing to show up and play for free if it means having an album recorded, but then the needless markups and inflated egos start jacking up the price.

Sadly, these costs often go to the recording staff, and the rental of the recording studio itself, and the artists see very little of the money used to record an album.

However, in the case of recording The Beach Boys album Smile, the star (Brian Wilson) was almost wholly responsible for the cost, which included:

an Arabian-style tent built in his house for the consumption of sandwiches, weed, and LSD, which ran $30,000 (about $220,000 now with inflation factored in). The placement of his piano in a sandbox filled with eight tons of premium beach sand could not have been cheap either. The economics behind "Good Vibrations," the song produced first and placed last on the track listing, was made public, approaching $75,000 ($550,000 today), including use of the Electro-Theremin itself (responsible for $15,000).

Awesome Images Of Pop Culture Icons Created Using Stock Photos

Photoshopped art pieces generally fall into two different categories- addition and subtraction. Either something is added to the original image or subtracted from it, which generally makes spotting a Photoshopped image quite easy.

But the digital artworks created by Jeff Chapman aren’t so easy to categorize, and the way Jeff creates these amazing looking images of iconic characters from pop culture is quite complicated.

Jeff uses various pieces from stock photographs, with some additional digital painting and visual effects, to create highly detailed images of strong and sexy pop culture superstars. Here's a glimpse into the making of this striking portrait of Elsa from Frozen:

Horror Villains Who Aren't As Bad As They Seem

Most horror movie villains epitomize evil, becoming the living embodiment of hatred, bloodlust, vengeance, anger or sheer psychopathia, but believe it or not there are some villains who simply don’t deserve all the hate.

These misunderstood monsters are simply acting on instinct, following their primal urges to devour primates who get in their way, or they’re simply searching for some existential thrills in their painful afterlife.

Cracked has put together a philosophically (and biologically) compelling article about 5 Horror Villains Who Aren't As Bad As They Seem, which may make you rethink your position on what makes a horror villain tick.
