America has gone gaga over Guardians of the Galaxy, making it the highest grossing movie of the year, but this fantastic movie we love has yet to come out in Japan.
So far all the Japanese fans have gotten to see of the movie (unless they got their hands on a crappy bootleg) are a set of hilarious commercials featuring some of the most colorful scenes and characters from the movie, namely Rocket and Groot.
These commercials are so funny you don't even have to speak Japanese to enjoy them, and they do a great job of capturing the awesomeness of the film, one character at a time.
Young children who are developing their artistic skills don’t worry much about drawing realistic looking figures, or whether their lines look like much of anything to the rest of the world, because they see what they want to see in their original works of art.
Unfortunately, parents are hardly ever able to see what their child sees in that mess of scribbles, but one parent decided to interpret her child’s artwork into collaborative paintings she and her daughter can create together.
Ruth Oosterman creates paintings that explore the shapes and contours found in-between the lines drawn by her two-year-old daughter, and from within the chaos of kiddy art she draws forth something quite special.
Finn awoke from a dream full of the desire to paint what he saw on the other side of sleep, so he grabbed Jake's paint set and started adding stroke after stroke to the canvas. The dream seemed to be guiding his hand, helping him bring his midnight journey through the land of Ooo to life, and when he was done he shared it, along with the story behind the painting, with the rest of the Candy Kingdom. Some citizens were impressed, others just didn't have an eye for art, but the Princess fell so deeply in love with the painting that she had it framed and hung up in the castle, so everyone could see how important it is to let your dreams run free!
Add a painterly touch to your geeky wardrobe with this Midnight Adventure t-shirt by MelissaSmith, it's a wearable work of art that won't leave you covered in paint.

Kevin Smith has his own unique view of the world, a quality we the fans love and admire in him, and despite the occasional Jersey Girl the guy always keeps his fans coming back for more, and the haters just keep on hating.
His upcoming film TUSK promises to be much the same- a movie with an interesting premise that will probably be adored by Smith’s fans and hated by the rest, so Kevin came up with a similarly polarizing way to advertise his movie- medical marijuana.
Kevin hired Kushman Veganics to grow two unique strains of marijuana in honor of his upcoming movie TUSK, strains which will be sold by L.A. dispensary Buds & Roses in containers bearing advertising artwork for the film.
The strains are appropriately named White Walrus and Mr. Tusk, and herb grinders emblazoned with the TUSK logo will also be given away to patients at the dispensary, so they have "a daily reminder of the soul crushing spirit of the film's main antagonist, Howard Howe".
How's that for creative movie advertising in the 21st century?!
He's a legendary figure among old school gamers, the knight who battled against all odds to get his girlfriend back and finish his picnic, he's Arthur and he's mighty tough whether he's wearing golden armor or boxer shorts and a smile. Arthur wasn't a fan of jousting, so he decided to throw his lance instead, and when the point was driven home and the glowing statues were revealed he knew he was on his way to becoming one of the most famous faces in the land of classic side-scrolling platformers!

What do you see when you look at a Jackson Pollock painting? Do you see chaos? Color and Texture? A great big ol’ mess?
Pollock saw a way to bring new energy to the fine art world, and his paintings went from a controversial curiosity to some of the most expensive works of art ever sold at auction.
Director Leo Verrier and animator ChezEddy created this compelling tribute to the genius of Jackson Pollock entitled "Dripped", which "explores Pollock's search for a creative voice."
What's so interesting about that? The strange way this alternate version of "Jack" finds his inspiration...
Elephants and polar bears don’t really have an occasion to meet outside of a zoo, but the wide range of ecological simulations present in modern zoos make it possible for elephants and polar bears to peacefully coexist- in their own enclosures, of course.
Every species of animal in the zoo has their own climate controlled environment created just for them, and now those climate control systems are working together to make sure the critters are comfortable and the zoo doesn't go broke from paying the electric bill.
The Oregon Zoo is using an innovative new heating system that utilizes an underground geothermal loop they call a "slinky" to send the excess heat generated by the cooling system in the polar bear's simulated arctic environment to help heat the Asian Elephants enclosure.
Here's how it works:
Excess heat from the zoo's polar bear exhibit will be absorbed by the fluid inside a coil of pipes ending underneath the 32,000-square-foot Forest Hall, where Asian elephants are housed in an indoor "forest." This, along with a few other energy tweaks, are supposed to cut Forest Hall's greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent.
Whether you’re an avid Burning Man attendee who looks forward to roughing it for one week a year with your fellow free expressionists, or you find the whole thing ridiculous and overrated, you have to admit one thing- photos taken at the event are really darn cool!
Photo-ops abound at Burning Man, with subjects ranging from the unique, and often massive, artworks created especially for the event, to the stylish renegades that become part of the temporary artists community at the heart of this unique celebration of life.
Visual storyteller Jessica Yurasek chose to focus her photographic eye primarily on the amazing works of art found at Burning Man, and from the look of these fantastic pics 2014 was a good year to get artsy in the Nevada desert!
Life isn’t a race to the finish line, it’s best to live at a leisurely pace and avoid danger whenever possible. However, that’s easier said than done, and part of living a regular life means being exposed to all the dangerous things that surround us every day.
College Humor created this Gorey inspired animated short that reveals the wondrous array of things that can kill you, spelled out from A to Z by the Grim Reaper.
It’s not a treatise on the joys of living a paranoid life, quite the opposite, it’s a fun reminder to get out there and enjoy your life to the fullest while trying to ignore the dangers that lurk around every corner…
The amazingly talented street artists known as Os Gemeos have created some incredibly cool, and incredibly large, pieces over the years, including a mural that covered an entire Boeing 747 used by Brazil's World Cup team.
These super talented street artists have upped their graffiti game with their newest works- six colorful characters painted on 70 foot tall silos in Vancouver.
The extremely talented Brazilian brothers known as Os Gemeos were invited to paint their iconic "Giants" characters on the silos by non-profit arts group Vancouver Biennale, who are working to bring more public art works to their beautiful city by the bay.
It took the dynamic duo a month to complete this amazing project, and like all good street art the work was created for the enjoyment of public art lovers and not for profit.
The Goofster might seem like a big, bumbling buffoon here on Earth, but on many faraway planets he's worshipped as a god. His physical appearance changes into something resembling a pile of spaghetti and meatballs, and he gains the power of flight, other than that he's pretty much the same old goofy guy! Why would anyone worship such an inept noodle head? It's all in the strut and the hyuck...

Superheroes are nothing but made up characters from the land of make believe, in the real world the only super folks who use the symbol of the bat, or the robin, are the bats and robins themselves. The good thing is these little masked dynamos help keep the streets crime free and help curb the city's pest problem at the same time. And the bad part? The "calling cards" they drop on cars and statues all over the city!

Busting ghosts makes everyone feel good, from the lowliest pie shaped fellows to the most famous ghost busters in the world, but something about busting ghosts made out of pure pixels takes the fun out of the whole process. Maybe it's the fact that 8-bit ghosts move really slow, or the fact that zapping them too hard makes them break apart into a bunch of glowing pixels, whatever the reason these video game ghosts just aren't as satisfying to bust as a phantasm full of ectoplasmic slime.
Bust out with some old school flavor, wear this 8-Bit Ghostbusting t-shirt by Lafar and watch your fellow fans go waka-waka-waka with delight!
